Bradley stars in Rivervalley win

BRADLEY Rogers (left) turned in a terrific display down the left wing as Jason Rogers and Paul Kelly's charges opened their 2009/10 account with a well deserved 3-1 win over their Swords neighbours in Brackenstown on Saturday.
The game was just five minutes old when Robert Campbell released Rogers down the left hand side. Rogers having cut inside then flicked the ball before beating the keeper with a terrific half volley.
And then, four minutes later, he tore down the wing before finding Owen Kelly (below) with a terrific inside pass. And within a flash, Kelly had found the back of the net with a left footed strike which beat the keeper at the near post.

However, Swords Manor were back in the game when Rebecca Fitzsimmons, having taken a pass off Cian Cummins, beat two players before slotting past the keeper. And the home side then came close to a second when Dara Markey shot just over.
Rivervalley then made the game all but safe when 15 minutes into the second half, their skipper, Matthew Kinahan, put a through ball into Kelly who duly dispatched the ball into the top corner.
